Mission
The overall mission for the Survivor’s Memorial Fund is to reach the $1,000,000.00 mark so SMF may be able to give a one time grant disbursement of $10,000. This one time grant disbursement provides immediate financial support and assistance to the families of ALL California Law Enforcement Officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Thus far, over 180 families have received assistance from this fund.

*It is also important to note that each grant is often delivered to the family of a fallen officer within 24 hours.*
Officers put their lives on the line everyday, and thankfully many go on to see a well deserved retirement.
Sadly, a fallen officer will never have a such a retirement.
A fallen officer will never see their children grow, to share special memories with their spouse, to be able to hug a parent, or simply just to enjoy what you and I have at this moment—LIFE.

What is the Survivor’s Memorial Fund?
Tragically, each and every year, in the State of California, ten to twenty law enforcement officers lose their lives in the line of duty. The survivors of our fallen officers have informed us that the family’s immediate financial need is for funds to cover food, travel, lodging and burial expenses. Insurance and pensions are not received until many months after the death of their loved one.

Due to the unforeseen expenses resulting from the untimely loss of a law enforcement loved one, the California Narcotic Officer’s Association has established a “Survivor’s Memorial Fund” to help subsidize these expenses. It is our opinion that this immediate financial assistance is vital to the well being of the family members during the shocking first days following the death of an officer.
The next time you watch television or listen to the radio and learn that a police officer has been killed, this Memorial Fund will already be in the process of making an immediate contribution to the family. Since its inception, the Fund has assisted more than 180 families in their time of need.
